WELCOME TO THE SOUND EMPORIUM
Early in 2017 a building was opened by a small and energetic team led by Kayleigh McCormick and Ross Sanderson known as ‘The Bunker – the number one music facility for children and teenagers in the United Kingdom.’ The project offers one-to-one music tuition, the popular 'School of Rock' classes, a state of the art recording studio, fully equipped 'live' and 'silent' rehearsal rooms, alongside the highly regarded youth service provision.
The project demonstrates a number of pioneering and distinctive characteristics in youth work, education and music. The originality of the building is matched by the originality and dynamic purpose of the venue’s programme and approach. This remarkable development has been shaped, directed and superbly supported by a combination of youth workers, teachers and musicians.
